Born in Rio de Janeiro, started playing percussion influenced by the samba and choro atmosphere. So the pandeiro, Brazilian traditional frame drum , became his main instrument. But with the experience growing, the afrobrazilian tradition gave him the background to shape his style of playing. Now he added the electronic devices to search and create new sounds and grooves.
Worked with Gilberto Gil, Zizi Possi, Sting, Joan Baez, Miyazawa Kazufumi, Lenine, Gal Costa among others. He also worked on the composition of some soundtracks for movies and tv series. Have three solo albums, and two in duo , one of them is Olho de Peixe, with Lenine, that became an important reference for new generation of musicians.
