I’m a combined performing artist utilising singing, spoken-word, movement, music, poetry & storytelling. My sound is rooted in neo-soul, jazz, R&B/soul & traditional Nigerian storytelling. I explore the intersection of being a Black British-Nigerian neurodivergent woman; celebrating identity, spirituality, advocacy of mental health & neurodiversity, for Black & Brown communities.
Since 2016, I’ve worked in mental health for the NHS. Juggling this with my creative practice led to burnout in 2022 so I took a sabbatical to reconnect with my art. I’ve reduced my hours in the NHS to invest more in my creativity.
I’m a self-taught artist, introduced to music & collective sound at church, choirs & community singing classes. In 2013, I led the UK’s largest African-Caribbean Society choir at Brunel University. I’ve curated music events under my umbrella love&music; bringing people together inspired by the concept of Ubuntu for emerging artists to showcase work in safer places.
