I was officially initiated into the world of music through my country's traditional instrument called Mbira. I fell in love with it- deep history, sweet, soothing timbre and just altogether fun. Years later I fell in love with Jazz history, then Jazz itself. Add to that the fact that I am happiest making music; new melodies, new poetry, new rhythms ... and on stage; watching the smiles and the swaying of my audience- that is me! Mbira, Jazz and Afro.
Ten years into my career, I have two studio albums to my name, with the third one almost done but still in the oven. I have several tour and collaborative credits, a few awards from here and there and the absolute honor of being a custodian of my culture and its forward-movement.
I look forward to mixing what's never been mixed before and discovering what comes out.
