David (‘Dah – veed’) Murillo R. is an award-winning Colombian composer currently based in LA whose musical focus on composing for visual media has led him to score over 60 productions around the globe. After completing his Bachelor of Music at Berklee, where he was awarded the Howard Shore Scholarship (The Lord of the Rings saga, The Hobbit, and more films) and the Latin American Full-Tuition Scholarship, David was awarded the Trent Reznor (Social Network, The Girl With the Dragon Tatoo, and more) Award for his groundbreaking electronics in his scores.
His composing work spans a wide variety of styles ranging from 2016 Sundance multi-award winning “Between Sea and Land”, to the sibling rivalry coming-of-age story “Blast Beat” also an official Sundance selection in 2020. David’s unique gift to write story-driven music for film and television has earned him praise regardless of his scores being on opposite ends of the musical spectrum.
