Anna Sato began learning Shima Uta (Island song-style) from her grandfather Sumio Megumi from age three. She has been singing ever since.
Her rich voice evokes the spirits of her native Amami Island, and she has won many Shima Uta(island song) contests.
She debuted in 2005 by performing at the opening ceremony for “Expo 2005 World Fair”, produced by Kansai Yamamoto.


Performed “Cuentos de azucar” with a Flamenco Artist Eva Yerbabuena in
Barcelona, Spain
Role as a main theme singer for “Sego Don” (TV drama) in Japan as well as participated as an actor in the “Amami” Episode.


Collaborative concert with Toshiyuki Sasaki (drummer) in Paris, France
Dance performance “ICON”, as a music arranger and singer in Gothenburg Opera, Sweden


Participated in a music festival in Corsica, France
Performed Shima Uta in “ICON” by a Belgian Choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui in Gothenburg Opera, Sweden


Collaborative concert with Argentinean musician Mariana Baraj in Tokyo
