How It Works

From Your First Idea to the Final Recording

Beyond Music Vol.5 is more than an open call. It is a creative journey that brings together artists from around the world to collaborate across cultures.

From building your team to recording the official lead single with Guest Artist & Curator Ibrahim Maalouf, every stage of the project is designed to inspire creativity, artistic excellence and meaningful human connection.

1. Build Your Team

Every Beyond Music collaboration begins with people.

Connect with professional musicians, singers, composers, songwriters and producers from around the world through the Beyond Music community. Exchange ideas, discover different musical traditions and form an intercultural team to create an original composition together.

To participate in Beyond Music Vol.5, every collaboration must include at least four artists representing a minimum of two different nationalities. Every collaboration must also include at least one trumpet as an integral part of the musical concept. Beyond these requirements, there are no stylistic boundaries.

Participation is open exclusively to members of the Beyond Music community. Feel free to invite trumpet players from your musical circle. If you are not yet a member, simply apply to join our global network of professional artists before submitting your collaboration.

2. Submit Your Music

The submission phase for Beyond Music Vol.5 runs from 24 August to 23 November 2026, 09:00 CET.

Each submission must be created by a team of at least four artists, including at least two artists from different cultural backgrounds. Artists are welcome to participate in as many collaborations as they wish and are encouraged to connect with new members of the Beyond Music community. To foster new creative encounters across cultures, the same team may submit up to six songs.

All submissions must be original, previously unreleased compositions recorded to a professional or semi-professional standard.

Beyond Music is built on authentic human creativity and intercultural collaboration. Therefore, every submission must be created by the participating artists and must not be generated by artificial intelligence.

3. Artistic Selection

Every eligible submission will be carefully reviewed by Guest Artist & Curator Ibrahim Maalouf.

The selection process is guided by artistic excellence, originality, musicality, intercultural collaboration and the creative dialogue reflected in each submission. Beyond technical quality, we are looking for music that demonstrates authenticity, emotional impact and the unique artistic potential that emerges when artists from different cultures create together.

Ibrahim Maalouf will curate the official Beyond Music Vol.5 album by selecting twelve winning collaborations.

From these twelve winning collaborations, one will receive the project's Grand Prize: an invitation to the Montreux Jazz Festival Miami, where the artist team will collaborate with Ibrahim Maalouf and additional guest artists to further develop, arrange, produce and professionally re-record the official lead single of Beyond Music Vol.5.

4. Recording & Production

The Grand Prize winners will be invited to the Montreux Jazz Festival Miami in March 2027, where they will work alongside Guest Artist Ibrahim Maalouf and additional guest artists to further develop, arrange, produce and professionally re-record the official lead single of Beyond Music Vol.5.

The remaining eleven winning collaborations will receive professional mastering before being released as part of the official Beyond Music Vol.5 album, which will be promoted internationally and reach audiences around the world.

All twelve winning collaborations will receive awards, international recognition and exclusive opportunities as part of Beyond Music Vol.5.
