I am an artist from Dakar, Senegal, and my band is called "Sous L'Arbre Acoustik." I formed my music group in 2012 in Ouakam (a popular neighborhood of Dakar in Senegal) where i used to play music and.make Senegalese tea for my community under a palaver tree outside of my house. For the past several years, this tree has been a daily meeting place for friends and community to spend time together. My music style includes afro traditional, blending many rhythms from Africa.
Our music group also represents a socio cultural association that I founded called “Sous L’Arbre Acoustik.” We engage in projects to help street kids in Senegal, raise awareness about environmental issues, and give cultural workshop programs.
