I'm very emotional, spiritual and tell it like it is... so honesty, vulnerability and story telling are very important to me. I take you on a journey, I seek God and myself so whoever listens can learn to seek themselves for healing. Collaborations are very important to me because I never miss an opportunity to learn something new, to be a child again even in a familiar industry.
My creativity evolves every single day because I listen to all genres from all over the world and can never describe or decide on what sound to go for. Most IMPORTANTLY, I Keep my South African African-ness lol. Unplugged is my territory, I tone down the Hip Hop, House, Jazz etc to a point where the song ends up not sounding like the original but I make sure I keep the emotions and story because unplugged gives me the freedom to do whatever I wish. So complicated is the perfect word to describe my art. Being thrown in the deep end to learn to swim is Shakuu 100% 😁
