Dasho Kurti was born on May 26, 1972 in Elbasan, Albania. At the age of 6 he started music studies at the music school "ONUFRI", where he learnt the violin and then other instruments such as accordion, piano and çifteli (traditional Albanian instrument). In 1990 he entered the Music Academy of Tirana where he studied classical composition. In 1993, the political turmoil in Albania forced him to stop his studies and immigrate to Greece for a living. Despite the difficulties of adapting to Greek society, he managed not to abandon his love for music. He also participated in numerous events and concerts in Greece and abroad, including: George Dalaras and Marinella at the Athens Concert Hall, George Dalaras, Dulce Pontes and Eddy Napoli at Herodion and the New York Metropolitan Opera in collaboration with The American Ballet, Yasmin Levy in Israel, etc. He wrote the music for "Disolate Villages" - his first personal album (2006) and also for films and theatrical shows.
