ABENEKO is a Tanzanian contemporary live performer, singer, songwriter, guitarist, dancer. Abeneko’s music is a mix of contemporary East African beats, melodies, funk and Afro-fusion, combined with traditional dance, melodies and rhythms. The music aims to promote Tanzanian traditional and contemporary music, dance and culture. the band have performed to major festivals around East Africa (Sauti za Busara, Bayimba, Karibu music festival) as well in Germany, Denmark, Finland and USA. the band is well known for the energetic and wonderful live performance with story telling, entertaining and strong message that address different issues in the society and culture.
