I’ve always been a writer. Whether it’s keeping a journal, writing creatively, or pounding the keys for a living, I love the process and the product and how it feels having wrapped up a lot of words into a neat easy-to-read package. From copywriting to journalism, I’ve been fortunate to make money doing it, but the most fun and fulfilling has been songwriting. Since I first heard George Strait’s ‘Write This Down’ in 2000, my heart has belonged to Country. Naturally that’s why I love writing Country songs, but I really love writing any songs and that goes for TV/Film as well as CCM. Although I’ve only been songwriting for a few years, I’m so grateful that I get to do it every day.
If I’m not writing, working or parenting, I’m probably reading, traveling (including monthly trips to Nashville), line dancing or training for my next marathon. After all, ya gotta live to write another day.
