Musician, teacher, composer, interpreter and researcher of traditional music, he has been creating traditional and contemporary compositions and explores the symbiosis between traditional and traditional Mozambican instruments.
Born on August 1, 1980, in the city of Maputo, Cheny Wa Gune is a family of musicians, residing in Maputo, with strong origins from the Chope people, from the province of Inhambane.
In 1992 he was part of the first youth group in the neighborhood of Unit 7 “NOVOS RAIOS” where he learned to dance and play most of the traditional and popular dances of Mozambique monitored by the artists of the “National song and dance company”
In 1997 he founded the Timbila Muzimba orchestra band with other young people in the “Unidade 7” neighborhood, with this band
