A 2020 Guggenheim fellow and Grammy-winning artist, Sandeep Das is one of the leading Tabla virtuosos in the world today. Since his debut concert at the age of 17 with legendary Sitarist Ravi Shankar, Das has built a prolific international reputation as a performer, composer, educator, and cultural entrepreneur spanning over three decades.
Das has collaborated with musicians and ensembles from across the globe, such as Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble, Paquito D’Rivera, the New York Philharmonic, and renowned Indian Classical musicians like Hariprasad Chaurasia and Amjad Ali Khan. He has recorded on over 20 albums for labels such as Sony, Virgin Records, T-Series and more.
Das is also the founder of Harmony and Universality through Music (HUM), an Indian nonprofit organization that promotes global understanding through performance and education, and provides learning opportunities and scholarships for visually-impaired children with potential in any genre of art.
