. Moussa Cissokho was born in Dakar (Senegal) in 1983 into a family of musicians. As the son of Bacary Cissokho and grandson of the "King of Kora", Soundioulou Cissokho, he grew up in the tradition of the griots. His grandfather was instrumental in popularizing the kora instrument in Europe. He grew up in the village and of course knows the rituals and sounds of tradition. Moussa grew up in the community of the Mandinka culture, where knowledge is imparted through oral traditions, stories, songs and proverbs. Every child naturally grows up in the village traditions.
