Gints Smukais
His first encounter with the guitar was in late 2008.
Since then, he taught himself to play and explored percussive fingerstyle and composing since 2011, playing solo shows and collaborating together with various well known Latvian musicians, academic musicians, pop-artists and choirs, playing in various Latvian national media and television platforms since 2013.
As well as stepping up to international stages with solo performances In Poland, Lithuania, Estonia, Russia and USA Winter NAMM show in Anaheim, California, performing as one of the 1st guitarists from Baltic States with his repertoire.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
- International Fingerstyle Guitar Championship 2019: 3rd Place
In year 2018, Gints published his debut album “Flourish”, which got a nomination “Debut Album 2018” in Latvian Annual Music awards 2019.
Other than that he is a kind guy.

This collaboration came quite naturally as Gints guitar just rang out through my speakers so eloquently. And I felt compelled to write lyrics about being torn between forgiveness and self preservation. Something I think many people like myself, may have faced at some point in life. Wether it be in love, family, and friendships. Life is a gift that were sometimes forced to protect, to be truly happy & safe.
