Based in the city of Ouidah (spiritual centre of Vodun culture), vocalist and songwriter Togbe Adjos bridges ancient Beninese musical traditions with modern global sounds.
A close friend and protege of legendary musician and vocalist Stan Tohon, Adjos began actively doing his own research into Vodun percussion and finding ways to combine these polyrhythmic grooves with genres such as reggae, jazz, and Afrobeat. Vodun Jazz was born.
Togbe Adjos has released three solo albums over the course of his 20 year music career. His latest release, Maman Tchamba (2020) takes us deep into Vodun spirituality, introducing ancient divinities to a new generation. Through collaborations with Beyond Music, Adjos hopes to further this work of sharing these timeless rhythms with a new international audience.
Tobe Adjos is also the founder and organizer of the annual Vodun Jazz Festival - inviting musicians from Brazil, Haiti, USA, and across the Vodun cultural diaspora to connect with their roots.

NJAA is a prog-African opus about hunger and famine, the global crisis that still plagues humanity despite all of our material gains. Bringing together powerful voices from East and West Africa (singing in Swahili and Fon), NJAA compels us all to confront the suffering as if it were your own family. Are you immune to starvation?
