I am a Tunis-based vocalist and Oud player. I also composed a few songs among which "Netfakker", published in 2020 by FoundSoundNation, that was the fruit of the OneBeat residency i did in 2019 in the United States, that brings together emerging musical leaders from around the world to collaborate, record new musical ideas and incubate artistic projects, and then go on tour, performing for American audiences, collaborating with local musicians, and leading workshops with youth. I love to meet new people from different backgrounds and get to work with them on a musical material, to listen, to learn and to share ideas. I feel that the OneBeat residency, alongside the intercultural experiences i made such as Medinea (MEDiterranean INcubator of Emerging Artists) and IFLC (International Festival of Language and Culture) are priceless opportunities that made me grow and had a profound impact on me, both personally and professionally.

There is a love/hate relationship between melody and rhythm in every song. In countless songs in this universe (in all its languages and ways of expression) they have always found a way to coexist. The lyrics of this song "Galaxies" are a dialogue between melody and rhythm and describe the conflict between them, the magic, the chemistry and the endless possibilities of unity. The musical arrangement is based on a simple vocal melody playing around two different beats. The spoken words add to the poetic mood of the song.
