Tormey Woods was a young artist at the Montpellier National Opera from 2014 to 2019, where he was mentored by Nicolas Rivenq. Tormey has sung under the baton of esteemed conductors such as Sir. Simon Rattle, Hervé Niquet, Ennio Morricone, Peter Leonard, Peter Robinson and Simon Halsey.

Tormey began his BMus in Voice Studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in September 2019 with David Pollard. In June 2019, he also participated in the first edition of the "Opéra de-ci de-la" residency at the Académie du Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, which was directly followed by the one-month summer programme of the Berlin Opera Academy, where he performed the title role of Figaro in "Le Nozze di Figaro". After the Berlin Opera Academy, Tormey made his British Youth Opera debut as a chorus member in Rossini’s "La Cenerentola". In 2020, Tormey became a member of the MEDINEA network, and decided to leave his studies at the Guildhall to focus on his career, continuing his studies privately.
