Luna Negra is a music with Afro-Argentine and Afro-Peruvian influences, but you can also hear some Spanish influences. The rhythm is based on a Peruvian rhythm and dance called "Lando" from the Angolan word Lundu. It is a rhythm in 6/4 can be felt in 12/8 and 3/2 providing rhythmic variety and different accents, thus generating a conflict when perceiving different accents. The song speaks of the moon witness of loneliness, memories, looks, loves, making reference also to his eternal love with the earth.
This musical piece shows the theme of the conflict in its contrasts. It mixes different musical genres: Funk, Son cubano, Afro and Jazz, with a 7-beat metric, as irregular as the life of these days all over the world. It contrasts between a part A (letter) and B (Piano Solo) with binary subdivision and a part C (voice only) with ternary subdivision. Choirs with strident harmonization to create contrast with a clear and well-drawn melodic line, over a text that shares fragments in both Spanish and Yoruba languages. Come or leave
