Hi my name is Wolfgang Eckert and I am a classical trained pianist, who always enjoys to search for different path. Since I started to play piano I prefered to improvise, alone or with other people together.
A big part of my works of the last years is to compose music for temporary dance pieces. And there I prefer to work with electronic manipulation of selfsampled sounds of rare instruments or machines, different materials and fieldrecordings. Nevertheless I keep playing in different ensembles for classical and/or improvised music.
No submissions for Beyond Music Project Volume 4.
The project combines three different characters of musicians who find each other on the level of improvisation, experiment and make each other resonate. The components consist of (Izabella Effenberg) sounds from rare instruments (including glass harp, waterphone, array mbira), (Wolfgang Eckert) electronic composed music based on sounds of rare instruments and fieldrecordings and (Juan Pablo Villa) experimental, multi-layered singing.
