Susana Orta

About me

Biel, Switzerland

I am 100% Cuban born in Havana and a resident in Switzerland, love all kind of good music and to sing the most. With my little studio at home I am developing myself, so please send me music to record, I am hungry :)
I shared the stage with many Cuban and international musicians and toured the world for 12 years with Cuban vocal group "Novel Voz", that was awarded the Best Vocal Group Prize at the Cubadisco 2005 International Record Fair in Cuba. So voices are my passion.

… The wild hair of a singer lights up the poster. The "Cuban Night" ... Le Temps.
Noche Cubana (cuban night)is a project with Siga Volando and the L'OCG in the majestic Theater Victoria Hall of Geneva.

Inside my head

The song is about the greatest and eternal conflict that every human being is called to face throughout his life : the one between his flesh and his spirit, the good and the bad. Note * Susana Orta decided to express the fact that each of us can live finding the perfect balance between both and she illustrated it presenting 3 principal natural and complementary elements from her native area. * Teriba in the song argued that the spirit must always be over the flesh in order to keep a good life

Vienes o vas - Come or leave

This musical piece shows the theme of the conflict in its contrasts. It mixes different musical genres: Funk, Son cubano, Afro and Jazz, with a 7-beat metric, as irregular as the life of these days all over the world. It contrasts between a part A (letter) and B (Piano Solo) with binary subdivision and a part C (voice only) with ternary subdivision. Choirs with strident harmonization to create contrast with a clear and well-drawn melodic line, over a text that shares fragments in both Spanish and Yoruba languages. Come or leave
