Apostolos Sideris was born in 1978 in Athens Greece. After attending Berklee College of Music, he earned his master's degree at the City College of New York under the tutelage of master bassist John Patitucci. Since then he has performed both with renowned jazz musicians such as pianist Leo Genovese and guitarist Lionel Loueke as well as with world music artists such as vocalist Savina Yiannatou and composer Ziad Rahbani. He currently resides in Istanbul and has recently released, on the Spanish label Freshsound Records, his debut personal album entitled 'Summation', showcasing his own mix of eastern modal music and modern jazz. Currently he is working on an new solo project entitled 'Hane' as well as preparing the music for the second Σumnation album. In addition, Apostolos is writing music for films and poetry, with several projects underway.
