Born in Santiago de Cuba and heir to a musical dynasty; Jorge Vistel knows the secrets of his land and combines it exquisitely with the jazz avant-garde. This results in a contemporary, personal and authentic style. After his latest work: CIMARRÓN, published by Inner Circle Music in 2014; new york label owned by Greg Osby, continues the line with his new album: OSSAIN in 2015. Vistel began his studies at an early age, and then formed into the National Art School in Cuba. Alongside taking lessons with Steve Coleman, Wynton Marsalis, Nicholas Payton, Steve Turre and Barry Harris, among others.

In 2005 decided to reside in Europe, playing on stage with people such as Benny Golson, Roy Hargrove, Doug Hammond, David Murray, Wynton Marsalis, Lewis Nash, Dado Moroni, Benny Green, Marcus Printup, Avishai Cohen, Gary Thomas, David Virelles or Greg Osby. In 2014 he was touring with Alfredo Rodriguez & The Invasion Parade, sponsored by Quincy Jones.
