Michael Winograd
Clarinetist Michael Winograd lives in Brooklyn New York. He performs internationally with his klezmer band The Honorable Mentshn. He co-leads Sandaraa with Pakistani vocalist Zeb Bangash, is a member of Pneuma quartet, Tarras Band, and the Yiddish Art Trio. He produces records, scores films, and teaches (in person and online!). Michael is featured on Vulfpeck’s 2016 LP “The Beautiful Game” and in September 2019, he appeared with them at NYC’s Madison Square Garden, playing the world’s loudest doina for a sold out, confused, but very enthusiastic audience. He is a founder of the Yiddish New York festival, and from 2017 - 2021 served as artistic director of KlezKanada.
