About me

Amsterdam, Netherlands

I am a Spanish pianist/composer living between Amsterdam and Barcelona, playing all over Europe and beyond. I have released 6 albums as a leader and I am the second Spanish to ever be in the semifinals of the Thelonious Monk Jazz Competition in Washington DC (after Jorge Rossy in 1992).
I have played with several artists, from jazz to classical to folk/world music, including Kurdish singer Aynur, Rita Payés, Miguel Zenón, Seamus Blake.
My music is a blend of my wide influences, with strong attention to details and nuances. It is rhythmically very strong while being vastly imaginative, combining my Mediterranean roots with the Amsterdam experience, as well as with classical music, African poly rhythms and folk melodies.
I try to be very connected with the reality and its struggles, and then I try to create music that transcends it and speaks on its own. Music is one of the tools to keep us being creative and bringing positive things to create some kind of positive impact.
