Giulia Barba
I was born in Bologna in 1984, and I decided to pursue musical studies after I majored in Philosophy at the University of Bologna. Only then I began studying music, first in Italy, then in the Netherlands, attending Conservatorium Van Amsterdam. In 2013 I released my debut album "The angry St.Bernard", which was nominated within the best jazz cds of the year (Jazzism, NL). In 2016 I've been touring around Italy with singer songwriter John De Leo. Since 2017 I'm a member of The Tower Jazz Composer Orchestra, with them I performed at Bologna Jazz Festival featuring saxophonist David Murray. In 2022 I released my second album as a leader and composer, "Sonoro", recorded together with singer Marta Raviglia, clarinetist Daniele D'Alessandro and cellist Andrea Rellini. The album is published by BNC Music and it's available in all digital platforms.
