Eskild Okkenhaug
Eskild Okkenhaug is bassist, arranger and composer based in Trondheim, Norway. He regularly performson the upright bass, electric bass and on the synth bass. For his bachelor degree in music, Okkenhaug attended the prestigious jazz conservatory of Trondheim in Norway from 2018 to 2021. The following year he studied arranging and composing at the same institute, receiving the top grade for his efforts. Okkenhaug is a versatile musician that is involved in a vast range of projects, either as a sideman, bandleader or composer.
With a firm eye towards the tradition of both jazz and classical music, Okkenhaug draws particular inspiration from the music of Edvard Grieg, Duke Ellington, Oscar Peterson, Claude Debussy and Vijay iyer. His unique musical ideas and a solid craft for his instrument provides him with excellent professionality and creativity to the bandstand. This vast taste of music is also what makes his musical voice so vibrant and fresh.
