Born in Tangier (Morocco), I am a piano, clarinet and ney player currently living in Barcelona. I got in touch with music studying classical piano since childhood and later learned clarinet mainly in a self-taught way. Passionate about countless cultures and styles -from Brazilian choro to the music of the Ottoman courts-, my music is inspired from contemporary jazz or minimalism to modal music or Greek and Turkish traditions. I’ve studied with musicians from different cultures and backgrounds such as Manos Achalinotopoulos, Cheryl Walters, Chefa Alonso or Christos Barbas. I’ve participated in traditional music projects such as Faluka, Sukūn, Jako el Muzikante or Milo Ke Mandarini Trio, as well as in improvised music formations, such as Najaal trio, and other interdisciplinary proposals, as I am also interested in theater and dance and their dialogues with music and daily life.
