Marina Tantanozi
Marina is a flutist and improviser from Greece who lives in Switzerland. She combines voice, microtonality, textures and electronic processing in order to create a personal language and to expand the technical and expressive possibilities of her instrument.
Her creative process focuses on the notions of communication and temporality, connected through the experience of active listening. As a performer she is interested in exploring music-making in very diverse settings, at the intersection of improvised, experimental, jazz, electroacoustic and new music, while carrying the sounds of the mediterranean music traditions. Festival and club performances have led her in tours throughout Europe and Russia. She often performs solo, as well as in trio with Philipp Eden and Frantz Loriot, the insub meta orchestra and the Bottom orchestra, Aquaserge, tangent+mek, APLOMB, in duo with Silvan Schmidt among others.
