Salla Hakkola
I’m a Helsinki-based harpist-composer and performance artist, specialized in composing media music for film & video games and in experimental electric harpism in multi-genre & cross-artistic projects.
Recently I’ve composed music for Clash of Clans, Angry Birds and Merge Mansion video games and played harp in different groups of pop/rock/world/jazz/experimental music.
A bit over year and half spent in Mexico D.F. had a huge impact in my creative music making - I started to compose and studied Latin American harp techniques & music, which are wild and fun and differ a lot from the classical harp tradition. I applied the techniques in developing my own style in playing the harp.
Later I continued studying music from different cultures in Global Music Master Degree in Sibelius-Academy, Finland.
I’m exited to be a part of Beyond Music and looking forward to meeting fellow artists from different backgrounds and making awesome music together!
