Petra Nachtmanova

As a musician Petra Nachtmanova focuses on Anatolia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Living in Berlin since 2008 she has sung with the Bulgarian female folk choir Bulgarian Voices Berlin. Her work on Anatolian music, poetry and the bağlama has been developing since 2012. She represented Austria in the international TRT Türkcevizyon Festival 2014 in Denizli, performed on television and played concerts for Anatolian Communities in Europe and in Turkey. She is a member of the Anatolian female ensemble Telli Turnalar (World Spirit Festival Jodhpur 2019). Together with film director Stephan Talneau they worked on the ARTE documentary film project about the Bağlama and related instruments “SAZ” (Released 2019). Petra is collaborating with DJ İpek İpekçioğlu and Ceyhun Kaya on Karmatürji (Katermukke, Trikont). In 2022 Petra was Artist in Residence at the Tarabya Culture Academy in Istanbul. She currently works with the Toulouse based association CRICAO.
