Prof. Atamina
I am a Ghanaian Musician and Griot/Bard (Bambaana) who Performs with the Kɔlegɔ [a 2-stringed Lute Instrument from Northern Ghana].I was born into a family of hereditary Musicians whose role is to preserve the culture, collective memory and morals of society. I learned to play the Kɔlegɔ, from my grandfather, who was a luminary griot in the community and later in my formative years I performed songs originally composed by Ayuune Sule (his Mentor), to perfect my strumming skills. I am not only a talented instrumentalist but also an engaging performer with dynamic stage presence and captivating storytelling abilities.
Together with my band , we love to connect with the audience, drawing them into the rich cultural heritage of Africans through our music, dance and storytelling.
