I am Kathmandu Nepal Based Composer and Performer. I play traditional Nepali Folk String Instrument "Sarangi". I grew up in a musical community where my generations have been playing music and i fortunate to follow the legacy of my ancestors.
I have been part of bands like KUTUMBA, Bipul chettri and the travelling band, Folktronics.
I am the founder Director of "Project Sarangi" which focus on evolving the folk instruments of nepal and transferring the knowledge of folk art to new generations.
I have been part of projects as "Playing for Change" "Coke studio Pakistan" Unconvention - an Uk based collaboration project.
Our song centers on adoption in largely traditional contexts. Kids from orphanages are oftentimes treated as inherently flawed, when all they lack is love not given. The few parents open to this usually have to fight for the acceptance of their larger families. So we tell the story of a child hoping for home and a lady convicted that her baby is out there. We hope to shine the light on the beauty of these families; created by boundless love, profound commitment and a sense of purpose. And to begin eroding the stigma around it
