Multi-instrumentalist and versatile musician, producer and performer. Drums, latin and world percussion, electric guitar, saxophone, keyboards, bass guitar, vocals...
I've been surrounded by music since I was born (luckily!), started studying at 5 years old and obviously still learning every day. My career it's been mainly performing in lots of different projects, and I spent the past 4 years producing, recording and arranging music for other artists. I'm a multi-instrumentalist musician so I can perform a whole band myself (not at the same time tho!), and that gives me a very open and easy vision of what's happening in any soundscape. Great to be here!
The story begins years ago in Granada, in an evening of music and poetry where the artists met. We spoke about home, we shared songs and vowed to make music with purpose. It is in these dire times, through the call for Songs for Soc Change, that we saw our mission clearly. We took a composition by Mario in Spanish, translated it and fused it with a poem by renown Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish. The song is about spiritual liberation through singing, and it is elevated with the voices of two Palestinian women, the talented Rawan and Aicha.
This song is about the climate disaster. How mankind has lost its way in navigating existence, and how it destroys everything around with its anthropocentric ego and power roles. The entire environment is sustenance and symbiosis: the forests, the rivers... but nevertheless the human being destroys them in its path. This song raises a glimmer of hope. It shows a reality in which, despite we lost everything, there's still that boat on which to chart a new course and return to the very roots.
