As a human who has travelled to different lands to experience different cultures among different places, I collaborate with other artists from different cultures in Africa to speak about the oneness among all humans, while incorporating Caribbean style of lyrical delivery, Pop, Rap and Anlo-Ewe Hakpanya to create one sound. Different places, different races, different cultures, but we all live together as one. Nobody is supposed to be a refugee, a stranger or illegal migrant regardless of wherever the person finds themselves.
“We can prove to the world that when the African is given the chance, he can show to the world that he is somebody” – KWAME NKRUMAH (First President of Ghana, BBC’s Africa’s Man of the Millenium) The African is someone who has an identity that sets him apart from the general misconception about who an African is, and what Africa is. This song AFRICAN SOMEBODY sheds light on who an African is, and what the African is capable of. In Ghanaian Pidgin “somebody” refers to a person of distinct caliber, self-worth and wealth.
Uhuru! A Swahili proclamation that means Freedom. This song talks about freedom fighters labelled as rebels. They do not fight for conquest but the inherent rights of a people. Freedom chants and sang words woven with Congolese Soca rhythm. Congo is not alone. Many are the nations that suffer this exploitation. . “We pray for Peace. But Peace is a little daughter. Her parents are Freedom and Justice”. Uhuru!!!
