CARMABYLON
I am a Swiss singer, producer, and composer with a Master’s degree in Jazz Vocals (Basel, 2022). Under my artist name CARMABYLON, I have been releasing self-produced music since 2017, where I see voice, production, and composition as one unified expression.
Shaped by my connection to West African cultures as well as influences from reggae, Afro, jazz, and hip-hop, I consciously move within in-between cultural spaces. Currently, I am deepening my work with Afro and Afro-Cuban rhythms as well as Yoruba chants, exploring connections between different vocal traditions.
Thematically, I engage with social change, cultural diversity, and the question of how we, as human beings, want to live together. I aim to create music that resonates emotionally, transcends boundaries, and connects people, regardless of language or origin.
