Treynor Tumwa, a Kenyan creative producer, music activist, and the Co-founder and Executive Director of Kakuma Sound, a community-based organization that empowers refugee and host community artists through music, culture, research, and storytelling.
I believe music is more than entertainment—it is a powerful tool for peacebuilding, cultural preservation, social cohesion, youth empowerment, mental well-being, and sustainable livelihoods. Through Kakuma Sound, I work with artists from diverse cultural backgrounds to preserve traditional music, create new artistic collaborations, and open opportunities for emerging musicians to grow professionally while strengthening their communities.
My vision is to build a globally replicable model that demonstrates how the power of music can transform the lives of displaced people.
