Watzup Magic
Terence Mugwe, artistically known as Watzup Magic, is a Cameroonian composer, music
producer, and DJ who hails from the English-speaking zones of Cameroon. My music is
mainly a fusion of various African genres such as makossa, highlife and amapiano, yet it
maintains an Afro-urban vibe, inspired by the likes of Black Coffee & Avicii
Born and raised in Douala. At the age of 17 my elder sister gave me a laptop as a gift, and in
the quest of looking for what i could use his laptop for, my friend “TABo” introduced me to
FL Studio, where i began to learn how to program music. I later joined the Bonamoussadi
Presbyterian Church to learn how to play the keyboard as a means to enhance my
music.
