Seya Swali
Seya Swali is a Zambian singer, songwriter and filmmaker whose music lives at the intersection of Afro-jazz, Latin jazz fusion, folk, reggae and Afro-pop. A storyteller at heart, she draws from her Zambian roots, Pan-African upbringing and a lifelong love of music that spans jazz, blues, funk, Congolese rumba and beyond.
After releasing her debut EP Queen in 2022, Seya returned in 2026 with her debut album SWALI, a deeply personal collection exploring family, love, identity, nostalgia and self-discovery. The album moves fluidly across languages and musical traditions, reflecting both her African heritage and her eclectic influences.
Seya's music is intimate yet expansive, rooted in tradition while unafraid to experiment. Her work invites listeners into stories that are personal, African and universal all at once.
