I am a record producer, musician and songwriter. I have also composed music for film and TV. I live in Los Angeles, and have worked musicians and artists from practically every genre, and from numerous countries and places around the world. One of the best things about my job is that it enables me to learn from, work with, and play with artists from diverse musical traditions and cultures. I have worked as a producer, musician, and songwriter with artists such as Tracy Chapman, Herbie Hancock, Randy Newman, Bonnie Raitt, Peter Gabriel, Joni Mitchell, Luciana Souza, Billy Childs, Toumani Diabete, Konono No. 1, Jeff Beck, Norah Jones, Eddy Mitchell, Thomas Dybdahl, Ana Moura, Molly Johnson, Bryan Adams, Freddie Hubbard, Carmen McRae, Lang Lang, James Taylor, Seal, Oumou Sangare, and many others. Bass is my main instrument, but I play and compose on piano, keyboards and guitar as well. The qualities that I look for most in collaborators are curiosity, heart, openness, and lyricism.
