Tony Overwater
I am a bass player and composer from the Netherlands. I studied double bass jazz at the royal Conservatory in The Hague (NL). In 2001 I started playing Arabic music with musicians from the Middle East. In 2010 I founded Salon Joussour to promote and research Arabic music combining musicians from the Middle East and Europe. In 2012 I started playing the historic instrument the Violone, an ancestor of the double bass, allowing me to bridge early music, Arabic music and jazz.
