Othnell Mangoma Moyo is a Zimbabwean performing artist, multi-instrumentalist, instrument maker, and cultural educator whose work bridges ancestral African music with contemporary performance. Rooted in Indigenous knowledge systems, he performs on handcrafted mbira, marimba, ngoma drums, and ngororombe, creating immersive experiences that connect rhythm, storytelling, and spirituality.
He is the founder of the Ngoma iNgungu Cultural Arts Center in Domboshava, Zimbabwe, a space dedicated to mentorship, instrument building, and cultural exchange. Othnell has performed in over 30 countries and taught at more than 50 universities worldwide, with many engagements in the United States. His work has earned the ILO 2019 Green Enterprise Award and a ZIMA Awards 2023 nomination, recognizing his contribution to cultural preservation and global artistic dialogue
