Frederike Schonis
Since 2007 Frederike was recognized as one of the most promising jazz talents in the Netherlands. She was called the “Jazzheldin (Jazz Hero) on the Maas” during the North Sea Round Town Festival in Rotterdam.
As an independent artist Frederike produced and released her first album "FRE".
For this album she formed a band that was able to play a mix of pop and jazz songs, edited and arranged in a unique way by Frederike.
After 25 years building a career of jazz singing in jazzclubs and at events Frederike felt the urge to write her own work, based on her emotional life.
In 2013 she decided to take part in a writers weekend, where her first own song was born: "Gathering My New Life”.
This song was picked up by music producer Juan van Emmerloot who brought her into contact with a network of pop and fusion musicians.
Thanks to this collaboration she started an immediate creative working flow which resulted in having 3 songs released by the label New Jazz Adventure.

This is a journey to finding ourselves again in this hectic world, so that we can go the way we came to this earth: With innocence, peace and joy. A quite, pacing groove creates the feeling of peace. In the transition, time passes and you came to realize you have lost touch. This journey can be scary, dark, hectic and quite sad, all the while it holds a certain peace, determination and beauty. Pursue this journey to come at peace. It is then when you can say, I am whole, I am at peace.
Frederike is a jazz singer and songwriter born in,- and originated from the Netherlands. Juan is a rock / pop producer/drummer and composer originated from Indonesia but living in Holland. This piece of music is created in memory of a dear friend - musician who passed away not so long ago.
