Emiel Scholsberg
Hi! I am a composer/vocalist/multi-instrumentalist. I started composing around 2004 and have ever since been working on honing my skills in both writing and performing. A child of a Dutch mother and a Surinam father, I grew up with a lot of different sounds, listening through my parents’ vast record collection. At age 17, a friend introduced me to the music of Jimi Hendrix. Deeply touched by his music and the freedom it advocates, I decided to dedicate myself to the music that could be played through the guitar. Thus, making music became a driving force in my life. Improvisation plays an ever growing role in the music I seek to make, as does the connection of spirits I'm always looking for while playing. Inspired by people and their music from all over the globe, my journey so far has made my work evolve into a blend of many different sounds, ranging from the most tender-hearted to the most screamingly poignant, but always in search for sharing stories that touch the heart.
