This is a remix/reworking of a song I recorded in Cairo 1989, where I had met Fathy Salama during STATION ROSE´s post graduate grant. Now, 30 years later, we cooperate again, and this track, besides the tune "Cairo by Day", which was also entered for the competition, is the result. We swapped samples over the internet, skyped a lot during the process, and are looking forward to the next compositions.

When I, as member of the digital artist group STATION ROSE was on a postgraduate grant in Cairo, in 1988/89, I met Fathy Salama. Having lived there, I composed 4 tracks and recorded them with Egyptian musicians. Now, after 30 years, we found the opportunity to cooperate again. For this competition we started to work together on 2 tracks, "Cairo by Day", composed by Fathy, and "Gunafa", composed by me, in fall 2018. Since 1988 the Arabic world has influenced the music and the art of STATION ROSE deeply.
