The Chop Bandit

About me

Jamaica Plain, United States

They call him the “The Chop Bandit”! Where did that name come from? It stems from his love of taking different elements from different influences and making them his own. A few of those being musicians like Chris Dave, Chris Coleman, and Robert Glasper. The Chop Bandit started his journey with the jazz/hiphop trio, THE VICTOR. Based out of his hometown of Houston, they went on to be featured on Portland Jazz radio and later headlined at The Elephant Room for SXSW, 2014. At the top of the next year, he had the honor of being one of the first members of the Houston Rockets drumline, Sonic Boom. A few weeks after playing his last game at the Toyota Center, he moved to Boston to attend Berklee College of Music. Since his attendance, he has managed to play with notable names such as Victor Wooten, David Fiuczynski, Yazhi Guo, Doobie Powell, Mike Stern, Jack Dejohnette, and currently play with the Blue Man Group in Boston.
