Composer and improvising pianist Andy McWain was born in Boston, MA, USA. He has received honors/awards from the American Composers Forum, ASCAP, the American Music Center, and Meet the Composer/New England. He was the winner of the Sotireos Vlahopoulos Composition Award given by the Washington Conservatory (DC), and has been awarded a Yaddo Fellowship, a Wellesley Composers Conference Fellowship, and residency fellowships to the Atlantic Center for the Arts (Florida, USA) and the Akiyoshidai International Art Village (Japan). McWain has a master's degree in composition from the New England Conservatory of Music (Boston) and is a member of the faculty of the music department of the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth.

Very often, the human race marveled by its own intellect and strength tends to forget that we are one with the planet; and that we need diversity even for our own survival. Rise Again is a song of hope. it doesn't condemn but acknowledges that mankind has been wrong a lot of times in the past and that there is the opportunity to rise again as one with the planet.
