ABOUT ME

I've had the immense chanse that Esma Redzepova, known as the "Queen of the Gypsies", an outstanding macedonian singer, discovered my skills when I was at the age of 13. She adopted and fostered me. I graduated in her academy in Skopje and then I was invited to perform with her band around the globe. I was only 13 years of age when she, after 6 weeks of intensive training, ivited me to perform at the ceremonies when Bill Clinton was elected. Presently I perform mostly in Switzerland with Ssassa. Beside concerts at the fabulous "Oriental & Flamenco Gypsy Festival" I really love to perform for interactive concerts in schools.

Musaik por Tanura
"Musaik por Tanura" is a real meltingpot of different styles and languages, composed by Christian Fotsch: The intro to "Tanura tari Ssassa" was originally composed as film music. The Iraqi dancer Assale Ibrahim later sparked the idea to evolve the song into a Tanura piece (whirling dance). Thus, an expedition through fragments of Armenian, Spanish, Arabian and Roma elements arose. In the lyrical Spanish part "Letra por Martinetes", Miguel develops the narrative of the Indian "Arai", who was born into a wealthy family clan, but who now prefers to live as a poor yet free gitano. In Romanes, Denis then poetically compares the countenance of his fair maiden with the bright shine of the moon. The last, uptempo part of the song explores in Spanish the exciting meanderings of courtship, and how to - finally - win over the heart of the beloved one. Daddou, the Egyptian singer, expresses with her wonderfully ornamented singing unconditional love.

Čingrlaka
This song has been initially composed by Christian Fotsch who creates world music with dozens of great artists around the world. The lyrics are written in romanes by Denis Zekirov, a Macedonian Rom. At the age of 13 only got the immense chance to perform as lead trumpet player for the inauguration celebrities of Bill Clinton, along with Esma Redzepova, known as the queen of the Gypsies, who adopted him as her 47th and last son. The lyrics are all about a Rom-wedding, where magic moments are called "Čingrlaka". There are very few words so it's easy tgo sing along. The Australian singer Sabine Bester is the daughter of Anne and Rob whom Christian was widely on tour from 1987 till 1993. Amrat Hussain, an outstanding tablaplayer from Jajpur, gives the song an indian touch, the source of gypsies. Miguel Sotelo, an outstanding flamenco guitarist living in Sevilla, adds with his solistic playing a subtil touch of flamenco to that happy song inviting people to dance.
