It has not been easy, but in the end, I chose ‘Get Wise’ because the message is universal. Whatever we do, let’s get wise and not be played by anyone, whether in our communities, on our continents, or in our countries. There are many issues we need to wake up to and get wise about. We must be aware of what is happening around us and not just follow the crowd. Just because everybody is doing it, we shouldn't. We need to ask the right questions and look for the right solutions. Everybody must get wiser. We need wise people, especially our leaders who serve us. Go out there and do the right thing wisely!” – Wiyaala

We spent days and weeks listening to everything, discussing the songs, and making a decision. The quality was enormous. We can hardly wait to produce the song with the musicians and composers in my studio in Zurich.” – Dodo

We are thrilled for the winners and send our sincere congratulations! You will be invited to Zurich, Switzerland, for six days to record your song with Wiyaala, under the direction of Dodo and his team at his studio. You will also star in a music video.

"'Dancing for Justice' succeeds compositionally because the music resonates with the lyrical themes of freedom and unity. Musical and geographic traditions shine through at different moments, creating a dynamic and harmonious whole that invites the listener to dance and reflect, much like the ebb and flow of the sea itself. Lyrically, the ocean is used as a metaphor for life’s depth and mystery, which can be both beautiful and treacherous. The song speaks to the human spirit’s desire to navigate through life (“eu vou navegar”) and to find joy even amidst challenges (“encontrar a dança no olho da tempestade”). "Dancing for Justice" also touches on social themes, urging us to refrain from prejudice and to respect individual freedom (“o corpo é dela, ela é livre”). It is a romantic and poetic call to live vibrantly and authentically, like the ever-changing sea. I loved it!" - Wiyaala

  • “Y.A.N.A.”

    • About the music piece

The challenge of social change begins with individual awareness. In a world where the news is dominated by stories of division among people, we wish to convey through this song that all human beings are fundamentally the same, sharing the same blood that flows through our veins, regardless of who we are. As Abiana says, “I am one of us, you are made of me,” emphasizing our interconnectedness. Joyce adds, “You are not alone,” reminding us of the importance of supporting one another. Ultimately, the purpose of our time on Earth should be to cultivate love and unity among all people.

"Proper education is the right of every person and vital for the well-being of every country. I have chosen this powerful song because of its important message. Shanti Ba, a promising voice from Ghana, has clear diction and a passionate, colorful voice. Tintin Oclock, a very skilled rapper, brings the song across with a dramatic, moving dimension. The two voices tell a story that is urgent not only for women. It is time to invest in education. The instrumentalists underscore the voices in a sensitive, poetic, narrative way. The song has a lot of potential to be heard and inspire change." – Regula Curti, Founder

What a profoundly inspiring song! Congratulations to everyone involved. 1,000 US dollars in prize money will be awarded to every member of the collaboration.

  • "Hidden Frequency"

    • About the music piece

We feel overwhelmed by the social issues of our time. We recognize our ignorance in the complexity of both real and cultural wars, and we want to be strong enough to help the world heal. We believe the first step is to lean into kindness and tune into the source; to open ourselves to the hidden frequency of love and faith that will fortify us spiritually, helping us weather the storm of social disintegration and upheaval. Josh Meck's Shona verse about generational shift offers another perspective on the theme of new and healing energies.

The song was nominated by our guest artist Angélique Kidjo and Beyond Music.

"The song delves into the struggle to understand a complex world filled with political and cultural conflicts. It reflects on the challenge of staying kind and resilient while feeling overwhelmed by these issues. A central theme is the desire to connect with a "hidden frequency," symbolizing a deeper truth or inner peace. The lyrics also express frustration with having one’s voice dismissed, especially when trying to share personal insights. The track fuses Neo-Soul, R&B, and Global Music, resulting in a captivating groove. The use of English and Shona, a language from Zimbabwe, adds cultural depth and authenticity, making this piece powerful and thought-provoking.” - Konstanze Wiedemann, CEO & Founding Member

  • "Domino"

    • About the music piece

The song is about reigniting the positive emotions and inner qualities within oneself, such as joy, love, and strength. It encourages listeners to feel the positive energy and be aware of the changes happening around them. That change starts with each individual and emphasizes the importance of breaking away from the familiar to embrace new possibilities. The imagery of dominoes falling signifies the impact of each person's actions. The song calls for taking an active role in this transformation and being part of the positive change in the world.

    • Jury Statement

The song was nominated by our guest artists Angélique Kidjo and Wiyaala.

"'Domino' is a cool groove, an electronic fusion that blends acoustic and electronic instruments, with a saxophone adding a soul/jazz vibe. The overall sound creates a modern, danceable beat—the kind of song you could easily dance to in a sophisticated nightclub. The combination of Ga (a Ghanaian language) and English adds an exotic flavor, suggesting empowerment and the ripple effect of individual actions, much like a "Domino Effect." The lyrics, “It all begins when we break / From all we know and let fall like dominos,” encourage us to initiate change by stepping away from the familiar. "Domino" prompts listeners to take an active role in their lives (“Got to play a role, here we go”), emphasizing the importance of participation and choice (“You either take or let it go”)." - Wiyaala

Your fantastic song leaves a strong impression! Warmest congratulations. Each participant in the collaboration will be given 1,000 US dollars in prize money.

  • “Rise”

    • About the music piece

Coming from a disadvantaged place in society and a world where various forms of oppression are a daily occurrence, alone we eventually lose the strength to continue fighting against our oppressors. 'RISE' is an anthem to fuel and give strength to anyone losing hope in the fight for positive change in society and the world at large. We can only do so much alone, but together we garner the strength, encouragement, and motivation to RISE above our oppressors and beyond.
