In this song, water is a metaphor for the emotional connection between people which can bridge cultures and cross borders. It is also a basic universal human need that we share. Water is a critical natural resource, and in many countries, the lack of it affects predominantly women, who often have to carry it over extremely long distances with great effort. But collecting water also brings women closer together in their shared mission. Featuring the beautiful and powerful voice of Sheryl Gambo.

''Diva (A Bird by Choice)'' is a song celebrating the spirit of independent women across the world who dared to follow their dreams rising above of all the social boundaries.
Sasha: I received an invitation from B (Bijayashree) for a collaboration exactly at the moment I finished my previous piece, and still had a hunger for more…
Heard an idea proposed by B. and was really impressed to hear her vocal abilities :). I was happy to do it, as stylistically it’s different from what I usually do, and the challenge was a nice perspective to try my skills here.
Bijayashree:
This Original ''Diva (A Bird by Choice)'' is a composition close to my heart. I am very fortunate to meet the very talented, creative and humble musician Sasha on Beyond platform. Sasha agreed to work on my original composition even if the time was really short.
His first bounce of the my original was what gave me the confidence that, we can do this together.
As it says...Music has no language, this original composition has lyrics which does not necessarily has any meaning. It is a pure musical composition composed under the guidelines of a traditional Indian Raga.
Sasha and me, we both look forward to see how this composition will be taken by the listeners. Wish and and hope that ''Diva (A Bird by Choice)'' touches all your hearts and you all resonate to the feeling of this original composition.
Happy listening!
Love and peace

Based on an Iraqi Maqam called Lami, this piece has the elements of Funk, Jazz, and Iraqi Makam. That work is empowered by using a floating bridge Iraqi style Oud, playing a long the funky rhythm.
The Flute, played by Sandro, beautifully blends with the Oud creating a passionate "dance" on the funky rhythm of Michael and the warm, artistic and elegant bass line played by Osmar. Adding to that, an improvised vocal "Mawal" singing an ancient love poem.
